In our society we are bombarded with social media, tabloid feeds, celebrity news, beauty products, the list goes on and on. It's these medias that constantly reminds us of what is happening in the world around us. But along with viewing these images and reading these articles comes the idea of labeling of how many "likes" or retweets they get. These likes, retweets, and favorites is when the popularity and beauty of oneself becomes measured. These numbers and negative connotations on Facebook are limitations we put on ourselves and beliefs we begin to adapt due to the society we live in. But we must learn and remember we are far more brighter and beautiful than that.
Beauty on the outside begins inside
The world needs heart-centered, authentic, loving and courageous people to stand up and shine their light'.
As I mentioned previously we are constantly being measured based upon outside factors, from social media, drive for success, jobs, money; We believe that everything is outside of us, so we seek validation of ourselves in people. Its as if we rely on those outside values to be the reason to love oneself and be completely happy in our own skin. But those outside factors are a moving target, they are never stable and constantly changing. As we change our jobs, friends, and goals. We could spend our entire lives chasing our goals and never come to the magic wonder of who we are. Don't let the outside define you. It doesn't matter the clothes you wear, the money you have, jobs you hold; it's about the life and light you bring to others in the world.
Learn to forgive yourself. We have all made mistakes or ate too much without working out that day. But life wouldn't be as enjoyable without the ups and down, learning from the mistakes you've made and that giant chocolate chip cookie. I am no expert as only being 20 years old but I have learned the past few years to love myself, forgive and let go of what holds you down in life. Being a girl in my 20's women are constantly discussing weight and looking beautiful and thin. Having a dancer body since I was a young girl I have learned to accept my body and me for who I am. Of course I agree with being active and staying in shape but don't degrade yourself and hold yourself back because of the way you are. You are meant to be that way and if others don't accept you for what you have to offer than they aren't worth you time and energy. Everything is happening for a reason, and that reason is not for you to be unkind to yourself.
Life is a journey. Take each day as an opportunity to shine and show the world what you have to offer. I challenge you to stop trying to fix or change yourself but rather to open up your heart and celebrate your inner beauty. You'll be amazed at the happiness and stress-free life that follows. As a PR girl I am not against any form of social media outlets as they are a top tool of communication but take them in with caution. The girl with most likes on Instagram might be glamours girl but remember the way she talks to people or the values she offers to the world outside of social media, and always remember that photoshop is a God for models and magazines. The REAL beauty starts within and can't be edited or faked through photoshop.
It's time for you to show the world all your amazing glory! #SelfLove
Stop being concerned with what others think of you but gear your focus towards establishing a sense of how others perceive you. We are all unique in a way that we offer different values into the world. As in the puzzle analogy, a different piece that world needs. It is our job to shine our light out into the world in a loving way and be true to yourself and others everyday. The beauty of oneself begins in the heart. To truly express yourself you must learn to open your heart, love yourself, and be the best version of you. Everyone else is taken, so why bother trying to be someone your not? As a author once stated '
