How in the world is it already July?! Once again these warm summer days sneak by us far too quickly, so make the most of this month and dance to the music, read good books, and quench your thirst the healthy way. #JamminInJuly
1. It's Kind of a Funny Story: This book by author Ned Vizzini is not your usual summer romantic novel. The background of this novel is a young 15 year old boy has everything he needs from a wealthy family, smarts, and friends but he becomes overwhelmed with academic pressure and let's his stress lead him to depression, eating disorders, and thoughts of suicide. I am only about halfway through the novel at this point and was hesitant of putting the book down and reading a piece more spiritually positive, but noticing how many college students can fall into this rut pushed me to continue reading. So far I can understand a theme of peer and self pressure and the obstacle of finding out who you are. At some point, we have all been through low points in our lives and feel like we've hit rock bottom but learning to listening to others criticism less and voicing your dreams more will allow you to rise above these life obstacles.
2. So You Think You Can Dance: Attention dancer, tune in every Wednesday night at 8 p.m. with Fox TV for good entertainment, amazing talent, and stunning outfits by Cat Deely on TV show So You Think You Can Dance. Get your dance crew together and enjoy watching routines from modern, hip-hop, jazz, tap, ballet, theater, and ballroom crafted by your favorite choreographers of this century. This week the top 20 dancers are chosen and the journey to America's Favorite Dancer begins. So grab the chips and salsa and get comfortable for a round of amazing dancers will flexibility, technique, and showmanship that will blow your mind!
3. First Aid Kit Band: This girl two dynamic is a folk band from Sweden. It's a typical girly band that generally only females would be caught listening to but it's a summer change up on your tan laying out playlist from a mixture of upbeat and calming music. Check 'em out!
4. Jif Cereal: YES WAY! As if my peanut butter obsession wasn't enough after cleaning out a jar of peanut butter in a week, it just got so much better!
5. Pure Leaf Tea: Cool off this summer with something other than pop. The Pure Leaf Tea has multiple variations of sweetness, flavor additives, and mixtures. Buy a whole cartoon, pour over ice and enjoy to crisp taste of iced tea! I personally enjoying experimenting with mixing flavors. Try a glass filled with 3/4 unsweetened Iced Tea and a splash of Raspberry Sweet Tea or Peach for the perfect amount of sweetness and flavor!
