Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day therefore I like to get a little creative with my breakfast aside from the usual cereal and milk. I had some overly ripe bananas that needed to be used and an endless supply of oatmeal. So with a little banana, brown sugar, and oats I banana fostered my oatmeal. Well kind of, I wanted to keep my eyebrows in full tack this morning, therefore didn't ignite a pan-full of caramelizing bananas with rum. Although it does add flavor kick for those adventurous connoisseurs this morning.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of Milk or Water
- 1 cup of Oats
- 2 tablespoons of Butter
- 2 tablespoons of Brown Sugar
- 1 Banana
- 1 cup of Oats
- 2 tablespoons of Butter
- 2 tablespoons of Brown Sugar
- 1 Banana
Directions
In a medium sauce pot bring the milk or water to a boil. Reduce heat to medium once boiling and add cup of oats. Keep stirring oats occasionally to prevent oatmeal sticking to side of pan.
In a small pan over medium heat add butter and brown sugar. Mix until the sugar begins to melt and bubble in the pan. Once mixture is melted add slices of bananas and let soak for about 2 minutes and flipping to coat both sides.
Once oatmeal is finished cooking, scoop into bowl, add caramelized bananas on top, sprinkle with a little granola and there you have it, oatmeal just got fostered. #BananaFosterOatmeal
