Warm weather and sunshine is finally upon us, summer is just around the corner. And this summer I thought I would try out a new idea to blog about - my monthly favorites. At the beginning of each month I'll share a few of my favorite products and items I came across this summer, Enjoy!
1. The Secret Language of Birthdays: Did you know your birthday affects your personality and how you relate to others and the world around you? In the book the Secret Language of Birthdays the combination of astrology, numerology, and pure psychic intuition reveals one's strengths, weaknesses, and major issues while providing practical advice and spiritual guidance. A shout out to a close friend Tres for introducing me to the book, it has provoked us with endless conversations about who we are, how we communicate with people, and where our inspiration comes from. I highly recommend checking out the website, The Secret Language of Birthdays and entering your birthday to discover truth in your personality.
2. Google Chromecast: I have never been that up-to date on the new gadget or gizmo of the year but when I came across the Google Chromecast device I quickly began spreading the word to all of my friends. Who doesn’t love to watch Netflix? Although your Netflix addiction can become a conflict for those who need to use their computer for school or work and having the screen miniature sized in the corner just doesn’t cut it. Now for those girls out there who don’t have an Xbox or PlayStation to stream through you can now stream Netflix to your TV through Google Chrome while you continue to write that research paper. It’s brilliant, I bought my Google Chromecast on Amazon for only $20!
3. BelVita Bars: Last semester my daily schedule took a drastic turn in the world of 8 ams. With my new position at GVSU Alumni Relations and classes, everyday was a 6 am wake-up call... well sometimes 7am, depending on the morning. But regardless my usual breakfast time was cut in half so breakfast on the go was essential. I was getting tired of instant oatmeal in a cup and granola bars so I searched for a new breakfast treat and found BelVita bars; soft baked multigrain biscuits that’s just enough to get your day started.
4. Tea Infuser: Although I am a sucker for a good cup of joe, I truly enjoy experimenting with different loose leaf teas. This particular piece is from Tevanna, the heaven of all teas. The store is filled with amazing aromas of canisters filled with a variety of loose tea flavors. The tea infuser displayed above is the Tevanna Perfect Teamaker, priced around $20. The filter located in the bottom allows for the tea to filter through without the leaves falling into your drink. This summer I plan to use the tea infuser for iced tea, particularly the new tea flavor Strawberry Grapefruit Xue Long Green Tea, it's a must try!
5. AquaNotes: No more great ideas washed down the drain – literally. If you are anything like me and have a Type A personality you love your lists. Now you can take those lists from desktop to the shower where most of my ideas are sparked. I have came to realization that taking a nice hot shower allows me to clear my mind and focus on brainstorming ideas but sprinting out the shower with dripping hair searching for a pen and paper was become a bit of hassle until I came across AquaNotes and my love for lists was taken to a whole new level. I have designed various logos and design concepts and wrote paper thesis and outlines while relaxing in the warmth of running water. It may sound silly but they really work!
